Angelina Ramirez
Board Member
Angelina Ramirez (she/her/ella) is a recent graduate of Coe College, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Religion. Angelina works as the Project Assistant for West Wind Education Policy Inc., an education policy consulting company working to correct race-based disparities within K-12 education. She is the Co-Founder of the Our Future Fellowship, a paid fellowship program that offers professional development and empowerment tools to young people who have passions for public service. In addition to serving on the Reaching Beyond Resilience board, Angelina also serves as a board member of the Cedar Rapids-based nonprofit, Advocates for Social Justice.
Angelina has previously been awarded Waypoint’s Women of Achievement in the Service to the Community Award in 2020. She is a Truman Scholarship Finalist, Newman Civic Fellowship Recipient, and an Alumni of United Way’s Board Orientation and Leadership Development program.
Angelina enjoys the outdoors and spends her free time camping and kayaking with her partner, Harold Walehwa. Angelina and Harold have a four-year-old pitbull rescue named Akoda and currently live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
